On the whole, though, I am pleased with this purchase - for the price and format it is a very impressive camera and, in my view, represents a good value for money alternative to the Go-Pro Hero 4.

There is, at the time of writing, still no dedicated Android or IOS app, despite the blurb on the box, although there are some generic apps out there with which the camera is compatible. I find it difficult to get a connection anywhere in the vicintity of my own home wif-fi network, for instance. The in-built wi-fi seems to struggle to make itself visible to other devices in an environment where other wi-fi networks are strong. A wrist remote control is available as an option, one that I selected, and works well.

It is compatible with cases and mounting systems made for the Go Pro Hero 3+ and 4 cameras (particularly useful if you need a skeleton case or extra mounts) and sound capture quality with the internal mic is very good, albeit not quite as good, in my experience so far, as when using an external mic. Picture quality is generally very good for a wide angle action camera and built-in image stabilisation is very welcome feature as ever it pays to experiment with the image quality settings, white balance etc to get the best results for the particular conditions. I'm still testing it in various scenarios but so far I have been favourably impressed with the results.
